ARC-HEST is a unique Swiss-Korean joint academic programme for master students, comprising a summer school and a winter school, one in Switzerland and one in South Korea.
Selected students of EPFL, the School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR), the University of Fribourg, Ewha Womans University, Hanyang University and Sungkyunkwan University study the synergy of architectural design, human factors and technologies in the built environment and their combined effect on the indoor environmental quality and human-building interaction in the context of the local culture and architecture in the post pandemic era.
The strong traditions, use of advanced technologies and direction towards a sustainable society that Switzerland and South Korea share pave the way to the international cooperation between two countries to raise awareness about urban planning and related societal challenges and facilitate solutions inspired by different cultures and policies.
